Excuse you this is a no homo zone
Hello and welcome to the homestucklinguists blog!
I should first explain a bit what is even the point of it.
Languages are a beautiful thing. There are various reasons why people learn languages. Maybe you need it to widen your options, maybe you are considering moving to the country for college or something, or maybe you just love languages! Either way, learning a language is an excellent opportunity and a marvelous experience. You can profit a lot from learning a language. You can make friends, you can travel easier, you exercise your brain… there are only good sides!
Now, why exactly Homestuck linguists?
See, being a language lover myself (a lazy one however), I have been wanting to pick up on some languages lately. Spent hours searching for decently organized grammar on google, spent a few more hours going through the material etc… and so on. That’s the basics of the language.
To fully learn a language, and to learn it fast, the most important factor is… to speak it. To converse in it. To talk, no matter how bad you are. Practice makes everything perfect.
Now, not everyone lives in the country where is spoken language they’d like to learn. Not everyone can storm down to the street and start a chit-chat with locals. But hey, that’s why we got the internet!
I googled various conversing sites, but then I realized- hey. What if we have nothing to talk about.
Initiating a converstation can be quite hard, we all have to agree. So of course, it’d be easier if you had at least SOME starting point. And besides, connecting the fandom is always a great thing! Working on projects together, finding out new great things and so on! Fans can be quite powerful and strike some positive changes.
That’s why this blog is here.
